Cooking at the Farm Cooking School

I can’t wait to retire (again). Some of the best times I’ve had over the past few years have been Saturday’s at  The Farm Cooking School. To be sure, I have to pick carefully to avoid too many meat dishes, but all in all with the variety of classes that Ian and Shelley offer, that isn’t too difficult a task.

In reality - though it is labeled as a cooking school - I would call it ‘strangers become friends while learning cooking techniques’ and then sit down to the fabulous meal they have prepared under the guidance of Ian and Shelley.  The Farm Cooking School certainly fits on a letterhead much better.

I’ve considered starting my own school, following the methods Ian and Shelley used. Oddly enough, even though I am now in the beautiful farmlands of Lancaster, PA and actually living on a farm, space such as the Farm Cooking School has found twice, appears to be in short supply out here. Perhaps I haven’t found the right real estate agent yet.

Whatever life brings over the next few years, I will always keep in my memories the joy, laughter and wonderful days of chopping vegetables, stirring soups and picking the day’s meal from the garden.

Cheers and heartfelt thanks to Ian, Shelley and everyone I have cooked and dined with.
